AMTZ Signs MoU With National Productivity Council For Enabling Consultancy And Training To Accelerate Medical Device Innovation In IndiaPublish Date : Sep 20, 2017
Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), India’s 1st Integrated Medical Devices Manufacturing Park which is being setup in Visakhapatnam, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Productivity Council (NPC) to contribute towards creating and sustaining the medical device eco-system in the country and support domestic manufacturing of medical devices. The MoU was signed by Dr.Jitendar Sharma, Director & CEO, AMTZ and Mrs. KalpanaAwasthi, Director General, NPC.
This MoU enables manufacturers at AMTZ with access to solutions towards accelerating productivity. The large integrated ecosystem being provided by AMTZ will be greatly complemented by the expertise at NPC to help medical device manufacturers enhance competitiveness, augment safety and reliability while ensuring better quality of products through training.NPC’s core focus of productivity as a means to improving triple bottom line of economic, environmental and social is aligned with AMTZ’s objectives of making healthcare affordable and accessible while placing India on the global map of high end medical equipment production.
AMTZ would include facilities such as electro-magnetic interference laboratory, 3D designing and printing for medical grade products,X-ray tube and radiation testing centre, gamma irradiation facility, rapid prototyping centre, metal molding and metal finishing centre, warehousing and regulator’s office.
